Outsourcing for Internet Marketers

Outsourcing

Outsourcing is a very important part of just about every successful Internet Marketer’s business. If you are an Internet Marketer thinking of outsourcing then you better read this. The following advice can (and very well might) be the difference between you succeeding or failing with Internet Marketing.

Outsourcing is when an Internet Marketer decides to hire someone else to complete work for them. For example, an Internet Marketer may decide to outsource 10 articles. The Internet Marketer will hire someone to write the articles. Just about any task can be outsourced. However, the tasks that should be outsourced are those jobs that an Internet Marketer isn’t good at and/or the tasks that an Internet Marketer doesn’t have time to complete. But I encourage you to write your own original content for articles as this will be the most promenent representation of you and your business.

How to Proceed

The first thing you need to do is decide who you want to outsource to. You want to find someone you can trust and someone who will do a good job for you. Therefore the best way to find someone is to get referrals from other Internet Marketers. Then make sure you get samples of the person’s work. Even with referrals you want to make sure the person and their work is right for you and your online business.

You also need to make sure you treat them well. Once you find someone who is great as an outsourcer for you then you want to keep them. So make sure you treat them well so that they will happily continue to work for you.

Outsourcing is certainly something that successful Internet Marketers have to do. But if you want to outsource then you need to make sure you choose the right people. To choose the right people you want to make sure get referrals, you get samples, and then you treat them well. If you follow this advice then you will have success with outsourcing.

Remember that anything you outsource has to represent you and your brand. Anything that you put on your site represents YOU, so be sure to re-write what they provide you to ensure it meets your standards.

IMHO, to outsource writers, better not believe work samples they provide you. You should ask them specifically to write something new for you, give them your guidelines, and see the result. Because writing samples are usually fake …

You are 100% correct Yenny. Never ever just go with a writer. Buy one thing from them and evaluate it to the max. Anything that you use or promote reflects directly to you business. All it takes is one junk blog and people will opt-out from being a follower or client.

Thanks for stoping by again. Always good to hear from you.

    Hi Jay,
Everything you say is so, so true. You know I am in love with outsourcing. And, how right you are about sticking with your own writing. I’ve found it most difficult to find someone who can write for me. I am just not comfortable with it as my writing represents my voice and my brand.

But, anything beyond that is free game in the “outsourcing world” to me and I soon hope to have my own business completely outsourced…except the writing…of course 😉

      Hi Kathy,

Glad to hear that your business is growing to the point you don’t Have to do everything yourself. 😉

Everyone has to reach the proper balance of what they feel they can outsource. The writing is the last thing that should be outsourced for exactly what you said, this represents your personal relationship between you and you customers.

Probably the next thing would be the value of your products and other product that you promote. Too many marketers use hype to promote everything under the sun.

Steve King and I plan to do more outsorcing eventually with our http://www.jaysteve.com services and promotional site, as well as, our membership site http://www.makingmoneyontheinter.net that we are establishing as we speak.

The one thing that drove us to work on this project together is an affiliate management and affiliate tools mini-site. Both of us knew that if we wanted the product to be right for the market in the short and long term that we would have to hire a programmer to develop the product. But it took us some time to develop the technical specifications for them. Thank God for skype. With me being here in Virginia, USA and Steve from the UK we would not be able to do business together so well. Sometimes we talk for hours at a time.

Great to hear from you, Kathy. I hope you continue to be successful in your business. If there is anything I can do to help, give me a shout.

  3. Hi Jay,

Great information! Outsourcing is something I eventually want to look into. There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day to do everything yourself.

    Best regards,

Hi Jay, great post. I write all my own blog posts and ebooks but am very happy to use my fabulous ghostwriter for reports and articles as I simply haven’t had time for them myself. She represents me very well and writes as I would – otherwise I wouldn’t use her! There are some poor writers out there who think they are very good!

    Enjoy the journey.

      Hi Mandy,

I agree that the blogging is the personal aspect of everything. That is why I preload my blog posts when I am traveling. It is really important to me. I have a couple of ebooks underway, but I’m trying to get into real products and offer all the written material as free information, at least for the most part. Maybe I’ll write some training items and let Steve do step by step videos and send the written as part of the training. We’ll see I guess.

Hope you had a good weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

      Talk to you soon.
      Jay

Hi Jay, some valid points here, Iam almost at the point where I will need to outsource some of my work, I fully intend to write my own articles and eBooks myself but I need to outsource the more routine tasks that I hardly ever get around to doing. i would be interested in anyone lese experience of outsourcing.

    Cheers

Hi Jay, great post and so very true. I’d like to outsorce some of my work load but its knowing who to trust for the quality.

I’m still playing catch up on last years course work so haven’t took off as yet, but when i do i will be looking to outsorce quite a bit to enable me to concentrate on the next product.

Like George said, so much work and so few hours in the day.

Great post Jay, thanks for the tips.

    Regards, Barry

    1. Jay Mueller says:

      Hi Barry,

I hope all is well with you and your family. You are so correct in saying that finding the right people for every job is the hard part of this endeavor. Lynne and I now use a ghostwriter for some of articles. But we do it a bit different than most. We provide an outline for them to write from and then re-write it when we get it back before sumitting them. But we only do this when niether of us can do it entirely by ourselves.

      Thanks for stopping by,

Hi Jay, very good informative post. Thank you for giving us a constructive explanation on how to look at outsourcing. Terry Conti

    1. Jay Mueller says:

      Hi Terry,

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. The reason we write the blog is to share information that we have had to learn on our own. So putting tips out there for everyone to see and learn from may prompt people to share some of their experiences. This is good for everyone.

Outsourcing is a scarey thing. You want to free up some of your time to do other things, but it is hard to let go of some things because your business, content, things you promote, all represent YOU. Take your time and get the right help for the right projects in your business.

      See you soon,
      Jay

      Hi Victoria,

You are correct, a lot of people are paying for piece work. Everyone needs to be careful of who they chose to do thier work for them. Take the time to find the right fit for a proper job.

Jay, great article, and no truer words have been spoken. I struggled for the first few months of working on my site in the abyss of website building hell. Everything I read made it sound so easy, yet in reality, I was completely lost. Until I found WordPress Classroom and my mentor. To this day, Jay has been a tremendous asset in helping me create, maintain, and grow my website. I write my own articles, but Jay helped get my site off the ground. Thanks, Jay.

    1. Jay Mueller says:

      Hi Laura!

I’m glad you could see the logic in the article. I takes great skill to balance all the things you need to, to be successful. You are doing a great job on your site, but you’ve also helped your daughter with her site and getting ready to build one for your hubby. You have come so far in such a short period of time.

It will be good to get rid of that other them and get you up to speed with a good one. I can’t wait to check it out for real.

      Thanks for stopping by,
      Jay
